UNIT DESCRIPTION:

SurgiCare One is our ambulatory surgical center located on the ground level of the Exempla Saint Joseph Hospital campus. SurgiCare One is comprised of 8 surgical suites as well as pre and post procedural areas.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Manager of Surgicare One is a professional Registered Nurse with primary responsibility for clinical operations of SCO. The Manager is responsible for coordinating and ensuring the provision of safe quality patient care by daily monitoring of the activities of assigned staff and by taking corrective action as necessary. The Manager is accountable for outcomes related to patient satisfaction, clinical performance and cost. The Manager provides leadership in assuring compliance with all State and Federal regulations, the Joint Commission of Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, and the mission and philosophy of Exempla Saint Joseph Hospital. The Manager interfaces with physicians to identify and resolve operational issues and/or needs. Responsible forhiring and orientation of new employees.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Lead, manage, coordinate, and integrate the Performance Improvement plan, activities and initiatives to facilitate achievement of organizational goals at Exempla Saint Joseph Hospital using Six Sigma tools, Lean, PDSA methodologies and philosophy. Work closely with the CMO, to customize and continually evaluate the Process Improvement program to the needs

of Exempla Saint Joseph Hospital in order to achieve and/or support organizational goals and strategies. Works collaboratively with the CMO and operational leaders to identify strategic PI initiatives, and develop internal candidates as future improvement team leaders. This position is responsible for the establishment and monitoring of key business metrics, tracking and review of projects and integration of new process and quality improvement tools (i.e., LEAN, Design for Six Sigma [DFSS]). Responsibilities also include the development and implementation of communication and education/training plans to facilitate knowledge of Process Improvement strategy, tools and business practices across the organization, as well as, identify, leverage and share best practices with organizational stakeholders. This position acts as an internal consultant for all levels of the organization with skills in facilitation, coaching, change management, and process improvement. This position is responsible for the direction and facilitation of large-scale organizational improvement projects from a lean and lean six sigma perspective and will actively manage several projects as part of the department’s mission.

Business Development

Strategic Planning
