JOB DESCRIPTION:

Performs a variety of CT procedures to produce images of a patient's body for diagnostic purposes. Collaborates with both internal and external healthcare team members to contribute to the plan of care of the patient. Practices patient safety. Works in collaboration with Director/Manager of Imaging to identify and drive quality and performance improvement initiatives. Requires thorough knowledge and understanding of the principals and physics. Hours of work may vary with Corporate and/or Departmental goals. 1) Promotes mission, vision and values of EGSMC and Exempla Healthcare. 2) Actively fulfills Best in the Nation goals. 3) Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards. 4) Prepares written documentation as required by the profession and the departments, such as evaluation results, individualized treatment plans, progress reports, and other such reports. 5) Performs CT Scan Radiology studies; obtains patient history, explains routine procedures and addresses patient concerns. 6) Transports patients to CT Scan room; prepares and maintains room for daily activities. 7) Selects and operates equipment as directed. 8) Requests and orders supplies as necessary to keep materials on hand at all times. 9) Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops. 10) Attends meetings as required. 11) Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. 12) Assists clinical personnel in transferring patients to or from beds, chairs, wheelchairs or stretchers. 13) Interacts with nursing units, emergency department, laboratory and outpatient department. 14) Ensures laboratory specimens/cultures are delivered to appropriate destinations. 15) Perform waived or moderately complex POC testing. 16) Assists with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies. 17) Assists with the training of new employees. 18) Assists with SOP revision and validation.

Operates a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images used by physicians in the diagnosis and treatments of pathologies. 1. Maintains established department policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance and safety. 2. Prepares written documentation as required by the profession and the department, such as evaluation results, individualized treatment plans, progress reports, and other such reports. 3. Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation exposure 4. Orders and stocks supplies, cleans rooms and equipment to maintain work environment 5. Competent with all equipment related to patient care including the MRI scanner, patient monitors and all patient records management systems 6. Prepares exam room, communicates with patient, obtains informed consent, and requests an accurate clinical history as necessary for the exam. 7. Reviews patient history and determines proper selection of protocols. 8. Explains the MRI procedure to the patient 9. Performs a variety of MRI procedures with minimal guidance 10. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops. 11. Attends meetings as required. 12. Nuclear Medicine Technologist IV will, in collaboration with the team lead, practice and promote The Best in the Nation Service Behaviors, Strategies and Priorities. Perform a variety of diagnostic Nuclear Medicine procedures utilizing radioactive materials, and provide radioactive therapy with unsealed sources. Selects appropriate imaging techniques and protocols to complete the exam. Receives patients, explains method of examination, and positions patient, performs IV puncture, and administers IV contrast agent when indicated. Independently performs and completes routine examinations. Unit Secretary will be involved in preparing and maintaining patient records using computer radiology information system and hospital information system software. Unit secretary will be interacting with schedulers, peri-operative staff, inpatient staff, taking phone calls from MD's and their offices, preparing packets for patients. Unit secretary will be under the supervision of the IR Nursing Shift Specialty Coordinator and direction of Interventional Radiologists. Provide information and support for customers and staff through effective oral, written, and electronic communication and physical assistance. Contributes to a positive collaborative working environment with other staff, physicians and ancillary departments. Upholds all Service Strategies, Service Behaviors and Service Priorities as we strive to become “Best in the Nation”.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Computer experience in data entry
