JOB DESCRIPTION:

Deliver room service trays to patients and guests. Collect dirty meal trays and record patient intakes on meal ticket. Work on tray line during as assigned. Transport soiled utility carts to and from the dishroom. Order par stock for the unit kitchens. Prep food items for tray line. Work dishroom or other duties as assigned. Job Summary Overview: Primary Job Duties: Deliver room service trays to patients and guests. Collect dirty meal trays and record patient intakes on meal ticket. Work on tray line during as assigned. Transport soiled utility carts to and from the dishroom. Order par stock for the unit kitchens. Prep food items for tray line. Work dishroom or other duties as assigned. General duties: “Deliver patient meal trays & snacks to the bedside.” Notify all ADA diets of insulin requirements. “Assist Patients with set up of tray.” Notify nursing if patient needs further assistance. “Leave "no bedside deliveries" trays out of patients reach and notify nursing.” Leave isolation trays on cart, fill in delivery time card and notify nursing. “Communicate with call center, dietitian, or nursing in regard to patient meal needs.” Deliver guest trays when ordered and collect voucher. “Select correct food items according to customer order.” Place items on tray according to plating guidelines. “Check all food items for quality before serving.” Check trays for accuracy and place on correct delivery cart. “Restock condiment station according to par sheets.” Restock air curtain coolers as needed according to par sheets. “Remove soiled trays from the patient's room & record intake as needed.” Transport retrieval carts to and from dish room by designated time. “Use cleaning chemicals as instructed.” Wear required PPE and follow safety procedures as needed. “Operate food-service equipment as instructed.” Report any equipment malfunctions to Facilities and the Team Leader. “Remove all trash from work area according to established procedures.” Clean carts daily or as needed. “Prepare food items according to recipes and production sheets.” Follow HACCP food-safety guidelines in handling all foods. “Use correct size scoop or ladles to ensure portion control.” Date and label all food items according to day-dot system. “Rotate items using the FIFO system.” Check dishes for cleanliness before use. “Discard unneeded items to the dish room.” Clean all workstations before leaving. Additional Duties: “Submit requisition for par stock on assigned unit kitchens.” Clean unit kitchen equipment according to procedure. Record patient refrigerator temperature on unit kitchen daily and take appropriate action if they are out of compliance. Deliver unit kitchen supplies and store accordingly. “Work assigned position in dish room. ESJH - Additional Duties: “Orientate patients to room service and distribute menus.” Assist Patients with menu choices and respond to questions about selection. “Take and record temperatures of hot and cold food on patient tray.” Complete following duties, as assigned, between meal tasks; portioning beverages, "specials", restocking stations, setting up assigned work station, lining tray mats, sorting and wrapping silverware. “Take patient tray and menu to correct nursing unit when they transfer.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Able to speak, read and write English language

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or GED preferred.” No experience required; on-the-job training provided.

Within the first year of employment, successful completion of HACCP training.

This position may include cross training into other positions of Food Service. Must have good communication and customer skills. General Duties § Follow recipes according to HACCP guidelines and procedures to ensure consistency. § Prepare food for room service using creativity, quality, consistency, and promptness. § Monitor and replenish food as needed for cafeteria, catering, or patient trays. § Take and record temperatures of food for cafeteria, catering or patient trays. § Take and record temperatures of refrigerators twice daily. § Clean as you go Clean as you go Clean as you go § Ability to operate various types of kitchen equipment and maintain cleanliness. § Ability to locate read and understand MSDS sheets. § Assist with keeping walk-in refrigerators and storerooms neat, clean and organized. § Ability to perform cleaning and sanitizing procedures of your work area. § Ability to perform job using FIFO and rotating food for proper usage of the product. § Able to cross train into other positions throughout the kitchen. § Must label and date all opened items. § Assist in responsibility for additional duties in the absence of co-workers.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Provide excellence in nutritional services to residents, families and staff through prompt, accurate and courteous service. Prepare and distribute beverages. Transport and serve meal to residents and guests. Following meal distribution, clean up and make preparation for the following meal service. Primary Job Duties: " Prepare and refrigerate beverages prior to distribution. " Prepare tray line with required beverages and supplies. " Distribute beverages to resident according to designated dining area. " Distribute meal to the resident and/or guest. Provide assistance with tray set up according to the need of the resident. Ensure resident preferences and needs are met. Communicate preferences to the charge cook or lead person. " Deliver food carts to the nursing units. " Bus, clean and reset tables. Clean chairs, salt and pepper shakers, vases and name plates following each meal service. " Roll silverware to be used on tray line. " Sort resident diet card according to resident and dining area. " Follows proper procedure when washing, sanitizing, drying and storing dishware and utensils. Maintain clean carts, equipment and work area. " Monitor and document sanitizing agent used in the pot sink and dish machine. Report to charge cook or lead person readings outside of normal range. Report fluctuation of water temperature in the dish room to the cook or lead person. " Monitor for changes in the intake of resident meals or ability to feed themselves. Document meal and fluid intake. Communicate substantial changes to nursing or manager. " Dish dessert, salad or condiments as directed. Prepare bread for meal service. " Properly dispose of trash. " Performs daily assignments which include but are not limited to distribution of stock, thorough cleaning of carts, washing walls, de-staining dishware, cleaning the interior of cabinets and proof boxes. " Follow individualized plan of care for the resident to include ordered diet supplement, adaptive equipment, beverage and food preferences. " Wear protective equipment and follow safety procedures. " Attend general and department specific meetings. " Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and requirements. " Demonstrates basic knowledge and understanding of therapeutic diets.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to read and write English.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

6 months previous kitchen experience Flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
